Privacy notice

Updated 20 August 2026 · effective from the same date

ChocoAngle is a small editorial desk publishing notes about free ancient-world mobile games. This notice explains, in plain terms, what happens to personal information when you read chocoangle.com. It is written to meet the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Who is responsible

The site is operated by the ChocoAngle editorial desk, based in Victoria, Australia. Every privacy question, correction or complaint reaches us at desk@chocoangle.com, which is the only channel we run.

There is no form on this site

ChocoAngle does not ask for your name, your email address or a phone number anywhere on this website. There is no sign-up form, no account and no order process, so no contact details are collected from you as you read.

If you write to us by email, we hold that message and your address for as long as it takes to answer you and for a reasonable period afterwards, and we use it for nothing else.

Commercial electronic messages

We run no mailing list and send no marketing messages, so the consent rules of the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) do not come into play here. If a message from ChocoAngle ever reaches your inbox it is a reply to something you wrote to us, sent by a person, and it carries the same address you wrote to.

Technical storage on your device

One entry only. Your answer to the cookies and storage notice is kept in this browser under the key storageNotice, so the notice stops appearing on every page. It never leaves your device and it says nothing about you beyond the fact that the notice was closed.

We set no advertising cookie, no analytics cookie and no tracking pixel of our own, and there is no third-party marketing script anywhere in these pages.

Traffic served through Cloudflare

Requests to chocoangle.com pass through Cloudflare, Inc. as content delivery network and security layer, which makes Cloudflare a processor of your technical request data. In that role it handles the requested URL, the referring page, Core Web Vitals measurements, your device and browser type and the country resolved from your IP address. Cloudflare Web Analytics works without cookies and without a persistent identifier. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which contain IP addresses and user agents for security and diagnostics.

What we deliberately do not do

  • We show no advertising on this site and sell no placements, so no ad network receives anything about you.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we never pass it to third parties for their own marketing.
  • We build no advertising profile and run no cross-site tracking.

Disclosure outside Australia

Cloudflare and our hosting provider operate infrastructure outside Australia, chiefly in the United States and Europe. Where technical request data reaches them in the roles described above, that is an overseas disclosure under Australian Privacy Principle 8, and we rely on their published data protection commitments. Visitors from the EEA and the United Kingdom are handled under the same practices described here.

How long anything is kept

Email correspondence is kept for up to twenty-four months and then deleted. Server logs are rotated by the hosting provider on its own short schedule. The storage key on your device lasts until you clear your browser data.

Your rights

Under Australian Privacy Principles 12 and 13 you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to desk@chocoangle.com and we answer within thirty days. There is no fee.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the regulator for the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), at oaic.gov.au or by phone on 1300 363 992.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, it holds no database of readers, it runs no login and it has no form to submit, which keeps the surface small by design. Access to the publishing tools is limited to the two people who write the rows.

Changes to this notice

When practice changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Anyone who has written to us about a privacy matter is told directly if the change affects their earlier request.
